Project Summary:
Due to its geographical location, Turkey provides easy access possibilities to the countries that have coasts on the Balkans, Mediterranean, Europe, Middle East and Black Sea. With the developing sea transport in recent years, it has gained the feature of the transit port for the loads of Black Sea and Europe. The direct navigations from Turkey to the Far East, African Countries and European ports are made and important advantages have been obtained for Turkey in the delivery periods of goods, which is an important element for the sea transport.
Because Turkey is the transit center, it holds the distinction of being an important storage center particularly for the Far East countries. Turkish Customs Legislation allows the goods, which are not in free circulation/not imported, to be stored in bonded warehouses under the responsibility of the warehouse operator and under the order of shipper. The period that the goods are stored under the warehouse system is unlimited. It is possible in Turkey both to sell the goods stored under the warehouse system to the established firms and to send them abroad via any transportation modes of land/sea/air/railway by the instruction of the shipper. Transit deliveries are also not subject to any tax except for the service cost that arises. It is also not necessary to use the free zones for all these transactions. |
