Project Summary:
Hangzhou – Xin Anjiang – Jingde Town Express Way is the “one connection” in the “Two Vertical, Two Horizontal, Eighteen Connections, Three Circles and Three Channels” key road system stipulated by《The Road and Waterway Traffic Construction Plan of Zhejiang Province》(2003 - 2010). In it, Kaihua – Jingde Town Section is a horizontal section in “Ningbo - Zhangmu” as stipulated in《National Important Road Construction Plan》. By now, the section from Yuanpu in Hangzhou to Shouchang in Jiande of Hangzhou – Xin Anjiang – Jingde Town Express Way has completed its construction and has been opened to traffic, and the section from Baisha in Jiangxi to Wuyuan is predicted to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2006. The completion of this project has fairly important political and economic strategic implications in terms of improving the relations among western Zhejiang, northeastern Jiangxi and the coastal economic belt, promoting the economic relationship, material transaction, cultural and information intercourse among areas along the express way and the cities in Fujian, Jiangxi and Anhui, and developing the tourism economy, etc.
Its project recommendation letter has been approved by the National Development and Reform Committee, and its feasibility report has been initially approved by the Provincial Traffic Hall and the Provincial Development and Reform Committee. The construction shall be started by 2008.
